The Alpine Rose

The Alpine Rose is a flowering plant that is typically found in the Swiss Alps. It has bright pink flowers and grows at altitudes of up to 3,200 m. Its evergreen leaves are particularly resistant to UV radiation and extreme dryness and cold. The robust leaves are bright and shiny green, even after the snow has melted in spring. This phenomenon of ever-fresh leaves is due to a special protective protein produced by the Alpine Rose. The "DEHYDRIN".

PLANT STEM CELLS FOR SKIN STEM CELLS

For years, researchers at Mibelle Biochemistry have been studying the organic compounds and special protective substances of the alpine rose; in particular the water retention system DEHYDRIN. Studies

Protects epidermal stem cells from UV exposure.

Cultures of epidermal stem cells were treated with PhytoCellTec™ Alpine Rose, while others remained untreated. The cultures were then exposed to UVA and UVB rays. The colony forming efficiency (CFE) of the stem cells was then measured. The results showed that UV radiation strongly reduces the efficiency of cell colonization. Treatment with PhytoCellTec™ Alpine Rose increases the efficiency of stem cell formation (vitality) and a significant protection against UV radiation.

SKIING HOLIDAY STUDY

22 persons were treated with a sunscreen formula SPF 30 during their winter holiday (in the Alps, 1 week in March) to test the effect of PhytoCellTec™ Alpine Rose under extreme environmental conditions. The sunscreen without active ingredient was applied to one side of the face of a test person, while the other side was treated with sunscreen containing the active ingredient PhytoCellTec™ Alpine Rose. The loss of skin moisture in the face was then measured after another week of treatment at home. The results showed that the water loss was reduced by 39% after 2 weeks of treatment with PhytoCellTec™ Alpine Rose. This shows that PhytoCellTec™ Alpine Rose strengthens the skin barrier and makes it more resistant to environmental influences such as UV rays, wind, cold and dryness. (See graph)
